Interview with Drew: The 2012 Very Cool Life Live Event

Jenn Brown interviews Drew Rozell of Very Cool Life about his next 2-day live event this summer…

 

Hey Drew! I just heard you’re hosting another Very Cool Life live event on June 22-23, 2012 in Burlington Vermont!

Yes! I’m very excited. This will be the only live event that I’ll be hosting in 2012 and I am planning some cool new surprises for this year’s gathering…

 

I know I’ve told you that I had a really phenomenal experience at the 2011 event. I had several breakthroughs, met some great people, and loved having a couple days to myself in Vermont. What do you think makes these events so powerful?

First, thanks! I am glad you you made the trip and had a great experience…

As for the power of these live events, I believe that there is no better teacher than direct experience.

Sure, we can learn from books and media – obviously these are wonderful tools for taking in new information and ideas. However, there’s a world of difference between reading an article on say, skiing techniques, and getting out on the mountain and applying this information, right? The same is true for personal evolution. You have to get out there and experience it to really absorb the material and integrate it into your life.  There just is no substitute if you want to make some really cool changes in your life!

So with these weekends, my intention is get people away from the routine of their every day lives and immerse themselves in a new environment.  I find that when people decide to come to an event, they give themselves the permission and space to focus on their lives and desires in ways that rarely happen in “everyday life.”

I know some people think that it’s a luxury to take some “alignment time” and do something fun. I disagree with that thinking completely. If you want to create a very cool life, creating the space for getting into alignment regularly is a necessity. There’s no other way, really…

Finally, I host these weekends because I just really like creating cool experiences. I’ve been known to host a pretty good party over the years and I do my best to create a very cool, memorable environment for attendees.

 

Speaking of attendees, who do you tend to attract at your live events and why do they come?

Why, I attract all the coolest people, like you, of course! [Laughs]

In terms of what sorts of people I attract, my message of creating a freedom-based life in The Very Cool Life Code attracts a lot of business owners and entrepreneurs. I’ve always attracted a lot of fellow coaches, too. And there’s always some people who just seem to show up because they know they are supposed to be at the event!

As for why they come, from what I see, there’s a lot of men and women who are just ready to upgrade some area of their lives – like their money, work, or relationships – (especially their relationship with their self…)They’ve read my book, or liked my posts over the years, and they decide to come because they resonate with the Very Cool Life philosophy and they want to deepen their connection with these ideas.

I think the common thread is that the people who decide to join me are ready to create something new and great in their lives. These people are up to something cool in their lives and businesses (or they really want to be), and they are ready to do something about it!

 

I know I met so many great people from all over the country at your event last May. Do you attract new people at every event?

Certainly I meet lots of new people at every event. And yes, at past events, we’ve had people come in from Canada, England, Sweden, Israel, and even Australia. A very cool life knows no borders!

I’ll tell you – it’s a real thrill to see a new registration come in from someone I’ve not met yet or have only connected with online. The idea that someone wants to join my little party and it willing to invest in themselves to be a part of it… That just gives me goose bumps. Meeting in person is just a wonderful experience.

I also have a core group of fans who like what I do and how I do it, and they tend to show up at every event. Each weekend has its own unique vibe, that’s for sure.

Putting on an event is a lot of work, but connecting with such cool new people makes it all worthwhile.

 

Is there a theme for this year’s event?

Oh yes. This year’s theme is ALIGNMENT.

When your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs are in alignment with your desires, guess what? Very cool things get created in your life.

It’s really, really simple.

However, putting all of this together in a way that really works is nuanced, and these nuances and distinctions are the focus of our work over the two days together.

So everything we talk about at this year’s event will be within this theme of ALIGMMENT!

 

For someone who has not been to one of your Very Cool Life Weekends, how would you describe what goes on over the two days?

Simply put, the purpose of this live event is for the experience of it all. You could think of it like going to a cool music festival or an adventurous mini-vacation.

It’s a unique combination of immersing yourself in cutting edge ideas, surrounding yourself with other progressive thinkers, and physically being in an inspiring, beautiful environment.

In a nutshell, here’s what I am offering to attendees…

 

I loved the balance you created between covering the key principles in your book (The Very Cool Life Code), with all the space for us to share our thoughts and get coached directly by you.

I’m glad to hear that, because that’s my intention. If you come to this next event, you can expect a similar balance between me presenting the foundation elements from my book, coaching, and some wonderful tangents!

Connecting with you is my favorite part…

I want to hear your perspectives and questions. I want to coach you to get out of your own way. This is really the magic of a live experience… I wish I could explain it better, but like any great live event, I think it’s just something you have to experience for yourself!

 

I noticed that I had several breakthroughs just from hearing you coach some of the other people in the room…

I love to coach people and we all learn from that direct experience of taking the ideas and applying them to real world situations. The coaching part of the program is where so many really cool distinctions are made. Coaching really is the catalyst that leads to the clarity people get from the experience. Coaching is really my gift — it’s what I came here to do, what I totally rock at… and in coaching other people, I learn the most cool things about my own life!

I really loved Burlington! What inspires you host this event in Vermont?

Oh, Burlington is cool for so many reasons…

First, I host my events in Burlington because I love Vermont! The state just has a wonderful vibe… I find the geography to be among the most beautiful in the country. The Green Mountains, The Adirondack Mountains in the background, Lake Champlain… I could go on and on…

 

And again, I like to create experiences… Most attendees have not been to Burlington and some have never been to New England. Part of my desire is to get people in a cool, new place where they can remove themselves from the routines of their everyday lives.

 

 

Burlington has so many cool things going for it. There’s an airport, so people don’t need to rent a car. It’s a college town (I just love college towns) with the University of Vermont. Our hotel is two blocks from the fantastic pedestrian mall on Church Street and all the restaurants and shops are fantastic. In the summer, there’s a buzz of people on those sidewalks, eating outside, playing music and enjoying life. In fact, Church Street is so cool, it has its own website… It’s a vibrant place!

 

 

Really, one of the most satisfying things I hear from people is how much fun they had exploring the town and connecting with new friends. I know some people make a family vacation out of it and do some touring around. There’s so many cool places to see and explore in Vermont and the whole New England area.

 

You mentioned a cool surprise this year?

Ah yes. I am super excited about this…

Most people who follow me know I am a big fan and student of the work of Esther Hicks and Abraham. Certainly The Very Cool Life Code is based on Universal Law, or the Law of Attraction.

Well, about a year ago, I started having this thought about how I wished I had access to Abraham so I could ask all the questions in my head about life and deliberate creation.

Soon after, I saw that one of my Facebook friends, Frank Butterfield, offering a private session. At this time, I did not know this person and I had little idea of what he did, but I felt the inspiration to book a session. So I did.

To my delight, I discovered that Frank has the ability to translate collective intelligence in the same way Esther Hicks does. I found myself getting my deepest questions answered and having wonderful breakthroughs on how some subtle habits of thinking were holding me back from my desires.

Since then, I’ve done work with Frank and it’s really helped my upgrade my thoughts… Over the past year I’ve been able to create some pretty amazing results, from a deep sense of peace to an overflowing bank account and more.

So, as a very cool bonus, this year I am bringing Frank in on Friday evening for a live Q and A session for all the attendees. And yes, the cost of this event is included with your registration.

I won’t try to describe the experience, because it’s beyond my ability to explain!

But I will say that personally, I cannot wait for this bonus session. I think anyone who’s into the Law of Attraction and deliberate creation will love Frank and the experience he delivers.

How much are tickets to Very Cool Life Weekend 2012?

How many seats are available?

The room will hold about 25 people.

So far, 19 seats are taken just from coaching clients and club members.

 

What should I know about lodging deals at the Marriott (where the event will be held)?

There are a limited number of rooms available at the Marriott (it’s a cool hotel) designated for this event at about 40% off their standard rate.

You get the reservation link via e-mail when you register.

I want to remind people listening to this that the hotel is only able to put aside 15 rooms at this rate, and they are first-come, first serve, so if you want to come and stay at the event hotel, I recommend booking as soon as possible. I know a few are already gone…

Rooms are $189 (normally $259) and you can book them from Thursday evening the 20^th through Sunday the 24^th at this rate.

And if you prefer to stay somewhere else, of course, that’s cool too!

 

Why do you call it a “weekend” when your event is held on Friday and Saturday?

For me, every weekend starts on Friday! [Laughs]

And I never work on Sundays either. That just doesn’t feel right.
